The last coupe of years has been very busy for me, Working with Hiromi, Oli Rockberger and others. I really had a goal for 2008 and that was to release a new CD which represented my voice today, I still love very much my first CD ...Moving and feel it is a strong introduction to my world. It is a collection of all the musical styles that have shaped me as a musician.

I strongly feel this CD Chasing Shadows is a true reflection of my voice today. I have been lucky enough since my first recording to travel the world play all the major Clubs and Jazz Festivals, I have been absorbing all the amazing music I have seen, and playing with some of the top musicians around, through this experience I feel I developing my voice as a Writer and Bass Player, My goal this year was to have a CD out there that reflected my growth.

To bring my vision to life I felt I needed to be surrounded by the musicians who knew me best, I invited my close friend and long time collaborator Oli Rockberger to help Co-Produce the CD. Since the first time we played together back in Berklee we have had a strong musical connection, Oli really stepped up on this recording as a writer, player and producer, his enthusiasm and passion really saw this project come to life. Oli Co-Wrote two tracks on the CD, (Don't Look For Love and Where Does It End).

After writing every track I had a strong vision of who I wanted to play and was lucky enough to have my vision come true. Some of the worlds finest young musicians take part in this recording, Lionel Loueke-Guitar, Oli Rockberger-Piano-Keys, Gregoire Maret-Harmonica, Hiromi-Piano, Elliot Mason-Bass Trumpet-Trombone, Chris Dave-Drums, Ronald Brunner Jr-Drums, Bob Reynolds-Soprano-Tenor Sax, Tim Miller-Guitar, John Shannon-Guitar, Dan Brantigan-Trumpet and Martin Valihora-Drums.

The Mix Engineer was Josh Sadlier-Brown, We go way back to my first Recording ...Moving where he was Co-Producer, Josh was the first person I called when I decided to do this project, he is an amazing musician who really hears the simplicity and hooks in music, he is also very honest and direct with me which is the best thing for music, he worked through some impossible situations spending many nights in the studio with me going through files and making sure the music came out the way I heard it, Sometimes I can over do things so having Josh there really kept it real.

Josh's Co Worker Larry Lachmann stepped it to do the Mastering, Larry is unbelievable and very experienced I was lucky enough to have him involved. Throughout the recording Larry would stick his head in the door to lend his older ears and advice.
